I was in the Chiana Valley last weekend.Picture yourself in the bucolic scenery described by Boccaccio. It is a stretch of mild hills between Siena and Florence, covered by vineyards and olive trees. Along the off-roads cypresses lead to farmhouses and mediaval hamlets.This is the Chiana Valley.Relaxing weekend? Not really… they were two days with no breaks!A full immersion of activities.To start the pizza academy, then wine tastings, water sports, quod races, and to finish the tractor tour.Our group of friends was literally loaded onto the trailer car and taken around vineyards and woods. I feared for my own safety!What was the reward? Getting to a small lake which reflected the lights of the sunset and the surrounding woods. At the end of the day it was “almost” fun and worth doing it.

Lo scorso week-end l’ho trascorso nel Chianti.Immaginate di immergervi nel paesaggio bucolico descritto da Boccaccio. Tra Firenze e Siena, è un susseguirsi di dolci colline ricoperte da vigneti e olivi, stradine bianche costeggiate dai cipressi che portano a casolari in pietra, antichi borghi medievali. Questo è il Chianti.
Week-end rilassante? Non direi…sono stati due giorni no stop! Una full immersion di attività.
Per cominciare la scuola di pizza, la degustazione d’innumerevoli vini, i giochi acquatici, il tour in quod, in fine il pezzo forte è stato il percorso in trattore.
Tutto il nostro bel gruppetto di amici è stato letteralmente caricato all’interno del rimorchio di un trattore e portato a spasso tra i vigneti e i boschi. Ho seriamente temuto per mia incolumità. Ricompensa? Raggiungere uno specchio d’acqua che al tramonto rifletteva il bosco circostante. In fin dei conti è stato “quasi” divertente e ne è valsa la pena.
