On the 17^th of January I went to Milan Fashion Library, where DENIM, Una storia di arte e cotone, published by Fashion illustrated together with Cotton USA, was presented.

It talks about the invention and evolution of denim, and how fashion, art, cinema and advertising have been influenced by this garment which has become a status symbol.

Denim is one of the most worn piece of clothing, we can trust to find it in every season or occasion.

From the research of Global Lifestyle Monitor, carried out by Cotton USA, 64,4% of Italians have bought at least a pair of jeans in the last three months.

Today, to celebrate this cult item, I’ve found inspiration in the film Rebel without cause and in Elvis Presley rock’n'roll, for a tough look with a feminine touch: denim shirt, leggings with belt and zip, leather waistcoat, studded bracelet and patent court shoes.

Denim will enter boldly in the next fashion collections, suggested for spring 2012 by many brands such as Mulberry, Brioni, Just Cavalli, Victor and Rolf.

Il 17 gennaio mi sono recata presso la Biblioteca della moda di Milano, dove si è tenuta la presentazione del libro “DENIM, Una storia di arte e cotone”, edito da Fashion Illustrated in collaborazione con Cotton USA.

Il testo tratta la nascita e l’evoluzione del denim, come moda, arte, cinema e pubblicità siano stati influenzati da questo capo diventato uno status Symbol.

Il denim è uno degli indumenti più usati in assoluto, in ogni stagione e per ogni occasione possiamo essere certi di trovarlo.

Dalla ricerca di Global Lifestyle Monitor, condotta da Cotton USA, è emerso che il 64,4% degli Italiani negli ultimi tre mesi ha acquistato almeno un paio di jeans.

Oggi per celebrare quest’oggetto di culto mi sono ispirata al film “Gioventù bruciata”, al rock en roll di Elvis Presly, per un look duro, ma con un tocco femminile: camicia in jeans, leggings con cintura a cerniera, gilet di pelle, bracciale con borchie, decolleté di vernice.

Il denim entra prepotentemente nei prossimi looks essendo proposto per questa primavera 2012 da molti brand quali: Mulberry, Brioni, Just Cavalli, Victor e Rolf.
