With the term kaftan we often generalize and think just to that garment we use only on the beach. In reality, it has noble and antique origins.It was invented in 600 B.C. in the East, as a present for Heads of State, in the 60s/70s it started to influence Western fashion.Yves Saint Laurent was among the firsts to transform it into an haute couture piece of clothing, after having fallen in love with Marrakech. It later became a hippie chic symbol of the international jet set, matched to bundles of bracelets and rings.
